This article provides a detailed guide on how to update products in WooCommerce, including how to access the backend, edit product details, manage inventory, and sync with Square. It also offers tips on handling out-of-stock items and improving product images.

By Seth Campbell

In this guide, we'll learn how to efficiently update products in WooCommerce to ensure your online store remains organized and up-to-date. By following these steps, you can streamline the process of managing your product listings, making necessary changes, and syncing them with external platforms like Square.

Accessing WooCommerce via 1PasswordVault

To begin, we'll explore how to access your WooCommerce store through 1PasswordVault, ensuring a secure and straightforward login process.

Cleaning Up Product Listings

Next, we'll delve into the process of cleaning up your product listings within WooCommerce, focusing on editing, categorizing, and managing products effectively.

Syncing with Square and Managing Inventory

We'll also cover the crucial aspect of syncing your WooCommerce products with Square, adjusting inventory statuses, and ensuring accurate product information across platforms.

Reviewing and Updating Product Details

Lastly, we'll discuss the importance of reviewing and updating product details, such as descriptions, images, and linked products, to maintain consistency and relevance in your online store.

Let's get started.

Alright, this video explains how to update products in WooCommerce. We performed a hard reset on all the products, and you can see that the website now contains everything from our Square account, including DPC and other items. To clean up the store, the simplest way is to access the store through the back end. You can do this by opening your 1PasswordVault, searching for WooCommerce, and selecting Caritinium Info. By clicking on open and fill, you will find that the password has been updated and is stored there.

You can log in directly to the website.

4
Click "Log In"

This will take you to the back end of the website. Now, again, a big disclaimer here: it's very easy to break a WordPress website, even to the point of it not being repairable. So, these do break; you just have to be super careful about what you do back here. That thing inside of 1PasswordDesign will take you straight to the orders page. You can see any latest orders. What you want to do is go over here to products and click on products.

5
Click "Products"

The most important thing to watch out for when looking at products is right up here at the top.

6
Click "Published"
7
Click "Select a category"
8
Click "Filter"

To deep edit a product, click on it. This will take you to where you can modify the summary, description, and images.

But remember, all of this gets overwritten by what's on Square anyway. So, you wouldn't change it here, but I'm just showing you.

One day, we aim to offer linked products, similar to suggestive selling. For example, suggesting additional items when a customer orders something. This is a feature Square does not provide. To achieve this, let's return to the screen. WooCommerce may not always be speedy. You can use the quick edit option, which provides a more backend-focused view.

Let's change this to taxable. Not taxable. That again. A lot of that syncs with Square. We can turn that off here too, by the way.

Click "Yes ✓"

Click "Bulk Actions"
11

Click "Apply"

We are here on Square. I am going to sync with Square now.

I will change the status to draft.

12
Click "No Change"

If we put it in draft, it will stop syncing. This is the easiest way to do it.

13
Click "Update"

Click "Update" to save changes.

Let's check the program. It seems that the semaglutide on its own has been removed. Let's continue searching for more. Now, I will return to the published section and select another category, such as the IVs that we haven't added yet.

15
Click "Published"
16
Click "Select a category"

That's a good example. We may add it later, but for now, we won't until we decide on the IV therapies we want to use.

17
Click "Filter"

That's why I prefer putting them in drafts instead of trashing them, as we might use them again.

18

19
Click "Bulk actions"
20
Click "Cellular Rejuvenation"

I will draft first and then update.

21
Click "No Change"
22
Click "Update"

Let's see, are there any IVs on this first page? Nope. Now, I'll go back to published.

24
Click "Published"

Let's choose another category, lab services, to eliminate a bunch.

25
Click "Select a category"

Let's review all these lab services. We need to complete six pages of them.

29

30
Click "✓"

We may need to work on each page separately.

31
Click "Apply"

Draft.

32
Click "v"

Unfortunately, WooCommerce does not allow us to choose or extend the page length for a list of items.

33
Click "Update"

So now it updates. Now we have five pages. We would repeat this process on each page.

34
Click "☑"

Bulk edit, apply, status, draft.

35
Click "Bulk actions"
36
Click "Apply"
37
Click "No Change"
38
Click "Update"

No, I should have synced with Square. I'll do that again on the next page. Bulk edit, edit.

40

Draft, sync with Square, number.

So I'm going to pause this and finish these myself. I'll put the video back on when I get there. All right, I'm back. You'll notice there are no more lab services, our drafts have increased, and our publishers decreased. If we go to the website, this will be easier to see. If we scroll down here, we'll see more of those lab tests like thyroid, urine, ferritin, DHEA, and strep. Let's hit refresh on the website.

You'll notice that those have already been removed. Yes, the fee is not considered a lab cost, but you will see that some are categorized differently: telehealth, school, physical. Okay, it's functioning. Now, let's move on to POC services. I will continue with this, and then I will pause the video. We will resume shortly.

All right, we're back. I'm about to work on the final task we have. Let's check what's in the uncategorized section. This could require some attention. I'll move these to draft now.

But if we carry these two products and sell them, we need to categorize them as retail. For now, I'll put these in draft. I won't change SyncWiSquare. The other ones won't be SyncWiSquare because they won't update. However, I'll leave this one as it is in case we decide to sell those. I'm unsure if we will sell those.

Now, what you'll see is that yesterday we had around 70 products. Currently, we have 108. It seems like there are items in our retail inventory that we may not need. The simplest solution for this is to...

By the way, it did work. Here are the separate TrueAdapt and separate DHEST. That's all good news. You can also filter by stock status, such as out-of-stock, to view only those items. Inside here, let's double-check what we no longer need. I assume we can remove items without pictures.

46
Click "Filter by product type"
47
Click "Lab Service"

Click "Filter"

But this may be a case, Brandy. You need to decide what needs to be removed. I'm almost certain it's some of these without pictures. There are two ways to handle it. Firstly, we can delete it from Square or mark it as not retail. However, that wouldn't suffice. We can simply remove it from Square and also from here.

If you delete these items, they will be removed and won't sync with Square. You can't bulk move them to the trash, so you'll need to do it individually. Delete each item to stop the syncing process. I'll keep these items here.

Let's say, for example, we sell CDG Astrodim 60. We have seven in stock. On the Square side, we need to add the pictures, which will display here. We seem to be missing the description.

The description is missing. This is something we need to address on the Square side. If there's an item we no longer sell, like the new Adapt, we can simply discard it.

49
Click "Bulk actions"

I suspect it's the ones without pictures.

50
Click "Select a category"

Brandy, I'll leave that part for you.

51
Click "Filter"

And really, I made a video here. It's a bit lengthy. I'm willing to assist you with this. Just inform me. I'm serious. For a bit of fun, let's go ahead and click refresh here and see.

Arrive at the front of our store. It looks cleaner. Oh, yeah

So, there are some items that I am not sure we still sell.

We don't sell most of that.

But you'll see that all the labs are gone and similar items.

56

All that should be shown is anything that's marked.

Sure, here is the revised text: Yes, there are only two

58
Click "Update"

That's much better now. Alright. This is how you update products in Square. Also, a quick note about the blurry pictures from BioT: I noticed in the backend of BioT, specifically on the marketing side you mentioned, they provide product pictures available for download in high resolution.

Do not alter the items on the website. Make changes in Square, and Square will automatically update the website. There are 107 products for sale here and 108 here, which is unusual. This discrepancy may be due to an item being marked as both back-ordered and out of stock.

61
Click "Filter by stock status ✓"

Double-check the items listed under "Published" and move any unnecessary ones to the trash. Update items we no longer sell. If a product is missing a picture but still for sale, verify it. Let me know if you have any questions.
